As part of ESPN's and U.S. Soccer's documentary series Inside: U.S. Soccer's March to Brazil, the team took a group trip to TPC Sawgrass and got to take a hack at the famed island 17 hole. It did not go well.
The team provided a pretty solid cross section of the possible outcomes when teeing off at 17. Two guys actually made it on the green—backup goaltender Brad Guzan and Michael Bradley did themselves proud—but the majority did exactly what the rest of us would have: shanked, sliced, whiffed, and topped their asses off. A couple guys even pulled off the whiff-and-follow-the-phantom-path-of-the-ball move. Love that move.
